Privacy Policy

This early access policy is a practical placeholder, not legal advice. A qualified lawyer should review it before public launch.

What we collect

Melo may collect the onboarding answers you provide, including your karaoke song, favorite artists, music roles, collaboration goals, and collaboration barriers. If you create an account, we also receive the email address and basic identity information supplied by your chosen Google or email login method. We may separately collect your email if you join the waitlist.

How we use it

We use this information to build your early access musician profile, generate a structured interpretation of your music identity, calculate traceable compatibility recommendations, understand whether the experience is useful, improve the product, and contact you about early access. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Early access analytics

Melo records when onboarding starts, when each question is completed, when onboarding finishes, whether an AI profile is generated, how long the profile is viewed, and optional accuracy feedback. These events help us improve completion, clarity, and profile quality. They are not used to judge your musical ability.

AI profile interpretation

Your onboarding answers may be sent to an AI service provider to generate structured music identity and collaboration insights. The result is an interpretation, not a permanent label or a decision about your ability. Before account creation, your answers and AI profile remain temporarily on your device. If you choose to create an account, Melo stores the structured profile alongside your original answers so you can return to it later.

Account security

Melo uses Supabase to provide Google sign in and secure email links. Melo does not collect or store account passwords. Private musician profiles are protected by ownership rules designed to let each user read and update only their own profile. Authentication credentials and private service keys are not exposed in the browser.

Future streaming services

Any future Spotify or other streaming service connection will be opt in, and Melo will explain the requested permissions before you connect an account.

Retention and choices

You may ask us to delete your waitlist email or associated early access data by contacting privacy@melo.music. We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described here.

Security and changes

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to an early stage preview. No system is perfectly secure. We may update this policy as Melo’s features and legal obligations evolve.
